Greetings, dear reader!

A tribute to my bff Faith:

Just a quick peek at what I've been working on lately...American Crafts new line "Dear Lizzy" is one of the most adorable I've seen...I just LOVE it! 

This banner was created with the chipboard scottie dogs sent to me by dear friend Elizabeth:

The flowers have tiny clothespins attached, so I can add or move the pieces of the banner. I created this one for my bff Faith...long lost and now found friend via the magical powers of Facebook. The pictures are from our gradeschool years...the dress I was wearing was one of my faves...white with big,colorful "mod" flowers...bell sleeves and a "belled" skirt...sooooooooooo very 70s!

The Dear Lizzy line also has patterned adhesive backed fabrics...I have ordered several sheets of those and will be creating with them as well...some are so adorable I may just adhere them to a 12 x 12 canvas and hang them up as they are! 

Also, some more from my "lady head" collection. I always loved looking at these when I was a wee girl, so my aunt gave me the collection long ago. Most are still in wonderful condition:

A LITTLE RED AND AQUA SOMETHIN' SOMETHIN

Greetings, dear reader!

I was so inspired by the package I received that I just HAD to create something...so here's my little "somethin', somethin'": An AltAred Door Hanger (Front and Back)



I also created a "Happy Easter" Tent Card Garland. A technique learned from the "Banners and Garlands" class taught by the amazing Trish Turay of Work In Progress fame:






This kind of garland is a snap to make! I simply cut paper to 4x6, folded each in half, cut open sides with scalloped scissors (my second fave...first are my "Deckle" scissors!) and added easter images on the front. I spaced the finished cards on the vintage ribbon, and then added a pop dot on each side of the inside of card. Half the pop dot was on the card, the other half "caught" the ribbon to hold it in place. I'll be sending this one to my sister in Indiana...

ALTARED ART WEEKEND FAST APPROACHING!

Greetings, dear reader!

I am SO excited about the AltAred Art weekend coming up here at the Palace! There will be lots of art, creativity, laughing, chocolate, and mayhem believe me (when was the last time you got your "quota" of mayhem I ask?) Once again, I'll show you a couple of the things we'll be creating:

FLAGS, BANNERS AND PENDANTS, OH MY!

Greetings dear reader!

I thought I would share with you a few of the projects I've created inspired by the Paper Cowgirl Retreat in Waxahachie, Texas. If you recall, I made the adorably vintage "Boo Banner", a creation made by the mind of Jan Thomason. (She may still have one or two kits left in her Etsy shop...you can only hope!)






And then the kit I purchased from Jan's class made this spring flag/banner:











And then, because my sister's fam was visiting this weekend, I made these "Art Girl" pendants for my dear nieces (the cowgirl pendants are for me. :-) ) Here's the front of said pendants, created with copper frames, microslides, vintage images, acrylic and rubber stamps, ink, and the "Get Your Cowgirl On" from a "shrunk down" version of a piece of wall art created by the incredible Tina Wright:



And a message to my dear nieces...lest they forget as they move overseas they have an aunty and uncle who will be praying for them and loving them! (That's us in the wedding photo!)


Now I'm on to creating a Watch Crystal Pendant...we'll see how THAT goes! Thanks also to all of you who have commented and enjoyed watching my videos. I am glad they have been a help to you! More shall be forthcoming!
