HIPPITY HOPPING AROUND THE HOUSE...
Greetings dear reader!
(WARNING! HEAVILY LOADED WITH PHOTOS! IF YOU PREFER CONTENT TO EYE CANDY, RUN LIKE THE WIND!)
My next set of pictures are decorations elsewhere in the house:
(WARNING! HEAVILY LOADED WITH PHOTOS! IF YOU PREFER CONTENT TO EYE CANDY, RUN LIKE THE WIND!)
As promised, I am here to share some of the home decorations and play a bit of show and tell! Some of the pieces are new, some are repurposed, and some are treasured heirlooms given to me by relatives...but first, the Easter hubbub...Target had the most adorable red and aqua patioware! I just couldn't say no!
The glass was just so fun...and had GLITTER! Who could say no to glitter?! And the little chick and bunny? Sidewalk chalk from the dollar store! The red bicycle makes it so playful, don't you think? The three nesting baskets are also from the dollar store...I LOVE them!
My next set of pictures are decorations elsewhere in the house:
Some of my favorite treasures are in these pictures...the vase head collection my favorite aunt gave me, the vintage bunnies are from Diane at Saturday Finds. The repurposed burlap wall hanging was created by me, as was the paper lantern sitting next to the basket of flowers on my primitive bench. The above ADORABLE cake topper was a swap gift from Collage Contessa...I LOVE it's pale, soft colors! The vintage millinery daffodils are from another swap...aren't they wonderful? The Madonna Easter Egg was purchased with other handmade ornaments at an estate sale. I think it's beautiful! I may have to try my hand at such although generally anything "fragile" doesn't fare too well under my care. :-p
Since I realize this post has been photo overload, I've posted additional pics of my antique vase collection on Flickr for those of you who care!
And, NO, I have NOT forgotten about the giveaway...it will be worth waiting for...promise!
Peace and love,
Paula Clare

THE CARS CRAYON CADDY...
Greetings, (again) dear reader!
Here's the little egg crayon caddy I made for Mason. It's a little different (of course) than the original, because I think fat crayons have a better chance of surviving the little hands than the thinner ones. :-) I added some "theme" stickers just for fun...

Sorry about the lousy pictures...my camera is in rebellion for some reason. Note the tedious hand stitching. :-) It was really quite fun to make...hope he carries it around with him so he can be creative at a moment's notice.
Tomorrow pics of the household decor and some new goodies for my retro kitchen!
Hugs to all!

THE ELEVENTH HOUR: EASTER CRAFTS...KICK IT INTO HYPERDRIVE!
Greetings, dear reader!
Almost ready to go! More soon!
Hugs,
Paula Clare
I had originally planned to go visit #1 grandbaby this weekend, however due to unforeseen budgetary problems, we will be spending the holiday at home. However, I have an Easter box about ready to send to the little guy...including a Cars Easter Basket, Sippy Cup, Video Game (you KNOW I love a theme!) and now this handmade craft along with some Cars coloring sheets:
Isn't it adorable? (MY version will of course be color coordinated with the Cars motif...red, blue and yellow!) Cindylouh over at Skip To My Lou has this and a ton more free Easter crafts for your downloading pleasure!
Almost ready to go! More soon!
Hugs,
Paula Clare

"I'M A MAGPIE! I'M A MAGPIE!"
Greetings, dear reader!
Of course I speak of the famed "Magpie Ethel and the Blog Ribbon Challenge created by our dear Elizabeth of Creative Breathing.
My favorite aunt used to call me and my sister Peggy "Heckle and Jeckle" (for those of you who do not know this illustrious duo...behold the following):
Two wild and crazy magpies!
(Heckle and Jeckle, aka Paula and Peggy at an early age...with our dear daddy) Aren't we adorable?
Annnnnnnnnnyway, here is my blog ribbon...as always, it's made completely of repurposed paper and such...I felt a bit like a bird building a nest...hey! It's a THEME! lol

Speaking of birds nesting...I hung a happily spring wreath on my front door, and daily see a sweet little wren mama building a nest at the top for her babies...it seems a precarious place to build a home, what with me constantly in and out and all...but it is a wonderful springtime gift to sit in the early morning hours drinking my Earl Grey and watching mama bird so hard at work.
Here's the kind of wreath I'm talking about:
I will post pictures of the nest in progress when I can do so without disturbing the residents. :-) SO SWEET!
Ok, I'm on to my next project...and gathering goodies for my next giveaway! WOOHOO!
Springtime smooches!
