LET THE CREATIVE MADNESS BEGIN!

This is the Pile-O-Treasure I'm going to begin crafting with...I just LOVE this part of the process! Psychologically, this is known as "Gathering". Apparently all artistic types go through this stage, but some actually make the process of GATHERING an art form in its own right.

For me, it's kind of the same process I go through when blogging...I "blog in my head" pretty much all day, then finally get the words down on the blogsite. As I'm gathering stuff for my AltAred Art projects, I keep a running list/picture in my head of the colors and materials I want to use. By the time I actually get around to laying the stuff out, everything is color coordinated and a feast for the eyes.

WOOHOO! Arrrrrrr....I feel like a Craft Pirate!

Remember the FAB journal I showed you a day or two ago? Here it is with a pattern I've created for one of my felt projects. Cool, huh?

It's really satisfying to have everything together to begin the creative process...I'll keep a photo journal of of my progress...and post the pics here!

PRE-AltAred Art Journal!

Greetings, dear reader! I wanted to share with you a MAHvelous treasure found while on an AltAred Art Supply expedition...

Isn't it GORGEOUS? It's a blank journal wrapped in a beautiful silk scarf and beads! I can not WAIT to begin drawing and creating within its pages! I'm considering creating some felt Christmas ornies and such...so I believe I'll be using this book for my sketches...I'll keep you posted!

Okay, so here's the deal...this book is FULL of beautiful things that I just know YOU, dear reader...will just LOVE! Ergo, you MUST run (do not walk) to fetch this book at your local bookstore. If inspiration is what you want...THIS book has it! If photo and writing is what you look for in a blog (by the way, DO saunter and/or sachet over to the BLOG-O-RAMA Poll)----->
this is the book for you! (Sheesh, you'd think I was a featured author or something) I guess you can tell by now that I get OH SO EXCITED when I find anything (or anyONE) who provides me with inspiration! I've read it's a personality quirk of mine...ENORMOUS ENTHUSIASM.

(An aside: Do you know I've been offered EVERY job I've ever applied for (even the ones I didn't really want) because of this very thing...employers seem to like an ENTHUSIASTIC someone on their payroll...go fig!)

This blog is from the incredible Judy Wise...I just LOVE her busy, too-full pages...and the mix of photos with the writing...well, I think it's just FAB. Behold:

One of the things Judy does that I find SO utterly fascinating, is spray painting and stencil work...in JOURNALS. Isn't it the coolest?
