GNOME GIVEAWAY DRAWING THIS EVENING!

Greetings my gnome loving friends!

I want to thank you all for joining in the Gnome Party Madness this month! It has been beyond fun, and I've made so many new friends! I'm thrilled!

The Gnome Garland Giveaway drawing will be this evening at 7 p.m. Central Standard Time. I will load each entry (via comment) into a random number generator and assign numbers,  then place the numbers into a random generator to pick the giveaway winner! Here again are the prizes:

THE GNOME MOBILE, THE GNOME MOBILE, ROLLING ALONG IN THE GNOME MOBILE...

Greetings, dear reader!

I am THRILLED with the excitement being generated by our little gnome party! What fun!

It occurred to me as I was thinking about gnomes, trolls and other such little fellows, that I had a childhood run-in with gnomes...my favorite aunt took my sister and me to see The Gnome Mobile! (You didn't really think we'd get through the month without it, did you?) I can STILL sing the theme song!

HA! Now YOU try to get that song out of your head! lol

Regarding my last post and the little Swedish Tomte: Shelly from Abundant Blessings writes:

Oh my gosh, thanks so much for your kind words about my little tomte. That was so sweet of you. I don't mind at all sharing them with you're readers. Actually, it is really kind of you to offer. I'm not sure what you are looking for but you are welcome to put a link to them or I can tell you a bit of background on them. Here's a bit of the story:

I am from a family of Swedish immigrants so tomte have always been around either in story form or in little figures and such. I decided to try my hand at making them and have had sooo much fun with them. My children even love to have input in their creation, they'll tell me "Mama, that one should be holding an ax" or "that one should be making bread". 

I will be doing more work on tomte and other things in the coming months. You may have noticed I have not posted anything on my blog in quite a few months. Our house in for sale and we are in the process of moving to another state so I have not had a lot of time for creating. I sell the tomte for around $20 each, give or take a bit depending upon the "extras" which I have to make to go with them (such as little loaves of bread, cooking pots etc). I would be happy to take any orders and can custom make them to be doing whatever someone wishes. I can "re-create" any of the ones I have already done but because of the handmade nature of them, they will have slight differences.

Well, I think I answered all your questions. It was so nice to meet you and visit your blog. You blog is really sweet and I have added it to my favorites.

Did you catch the oh-so-reasonable price of the adorable little tomte from my last post?! WOW! Such a deal! I'm thinking a girl gnome gathering daisies in a basket would be wonderful...and a boy gnome sitting on a mushroom petting a fawn! What thinks ye all?!?!

GNOME SWEET GNOME...

Greetings, dear readers!

As promised, here are a few of the projects I've been working on...but be sure to read to the end of the post...there is something AMAZING I want to share with you...

 

 

 

And now, as promised, the piesta resistance...a dear friend of mine gave me this delightful treasure for Christmas...she found it in a library sale...for a QUARTER! (Which makes me love it even more)

 

The book is FULL of beautiful color pictures of gnomies and their "homies"...

 

Adorable projects...look at this sweet little mouse inside a gnome hat!

 

And this beautiful picture frame...

 

And just look at this wonderful little pillow...I just LOVE the pattern the gnome hand to hand gnomes make !

 

The colorful illustrations are frame worthy...

 

And all the colors are the vibrant, bright colors of dutch art. Just look at this adorable puppet cabinet...

 

 

And here's the best part...patterns! All the patterns are still intact in the book! Patterns for embroidery,

 

Patterns for wooden signs...

 

Paint by number patterns...

 

Aprons...for mom and daughter...and the patterns for the embroidered pocket motifs...

And patterns for felt gnomes that can be strung as garlands...or used on quilts...

 

 

Even patterns for quilt blocks...I may choose to make them out of paper...and have a dutch gnome block party!

I am in the process of checking copyrights, but I think the book is old enough that I can share the patterns with you as long as I give due credit to the authors/creators...isn't this EXCITING?!?!

SISTER CAM: ENCORE PERFORMANCE!!!

Greetings, dear reader! It is I, once more with the Sister Cam.

I have received so many comments about the video via email (including threats of bodily harm from two sisters who shall remain nameless) and so I thought a final, encore performance was in order. I have included, for your viewing pleasure, a few (non-speaking) photographs to fill in the gaps.

Here, you can see our Travel Companion as he poses with the mouth watering cupcakes from the Cupcakery in St. Louis.

Our choices for the day? Strawberries and Cream, Tuxedo (Chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream frosting) and Double Chocolate! Behold the cupcake-y goodness! (Is that angel choirs I hear singing?)

This is a shot of us before the carnage began . We all cut our cakes into thirds and then shared, so everyone could experience all three flavors. We, (and the gnome) were duly wowed.

After the Cupcakery, we headed to St. Louis Mills Shopping Center. What a FABulous place! The mall is sectioned off into "neighborhoods". There are educational quotes all around from the likes of Shakespeare and others...it was a wonderful day of walk/shop til you drop. And then, famished from our shopping safari, we headed to Lacledes Landing and the Old Spaghetti Factory.

(That gnome! Always hammin for the camera! Here he jumped up into the shot and was rewarded with temporary blindness from the flash)

Apparently parched after all the posing and posturing for photos, our companion opts for an Italian Soda...Black Raspberry.
