ALTARED BOOK: HOW THE WEST WAS FUN!

Greetings, dear reader!

I think I've mentioned in some of my previous posts that since I am participating in the Paper Cowgirl Retreat see info in my sidebar) I have been on a rather unusual cowgirl "kick." Since this altAred book I made is right in keeping with said "kick"...I give you my paper bag album: How The West Was Fun.

Paper bag albums are my FAVORITE kind of altered book to create...they are quick, simple, and very inexpensive. AND they have built in "pockets" for stashing tags, memorabilia, whatever! I'll give you a super quick video tutorial at the end of this post.

This book pays homage to a trip taken to the "wild west": Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. Amazing scenery. I actually saw many "homes" on the range...it was FABulous! I and my mom went together as travel companions...and, as you'll see in the album, she was quite the history buff. So learning was NEVER optional...it was kind of...thrust upon you. :-) I grew to appreciate these on-the-fly history lessons...and now that mom's gone...appreciate them (and the memory of them preserved here) even more.

I've left the pictures large so if you click on them you can check out the journaling and the details. This was my first "western themed" ANYTHING, and I was so pleased with how it turned out! The red bandana material was just the thing to add a bit of vintage western charm!

And now for "Paula's! Quick and Painless Paper Bag Album Tutorial":

More soon!

XOXOXO

Love the album...it's wonderful. Would EVER think you would do a "western/country" thing?? Simply amazing.

I couldn't listen to your video...for some reason I can't get your music to shut off on your blog??? Is it just me?? Ugh!!!

Love~
