YOUR HEROES...AND AN RAK!

Greetings, gentle reader! I am wondering after the long (I admit) and rather rambling (I confess) post about my heroes, I was wondering if per chance YOU might have heroes who help to inspire YOU? You don't need to list 10 (unless you want to) but list a few of them and I will put all the names of those who comment into a hat and draw a winner for a Paula's Palace of AltAred Art T-shirt! The T-shirts were a great hit in the Spring Giveaway, and so here's another chance for you to win this FABulous T-shirt (again being modeled by our uh-hmm "Merchandise Model.") Again, it's a size XL and is made of wonderfully soft brushed t-shirt knit.

Your heroes can be living or dead, real or fictional. The main thing is that they have lived lives that inspire you!

Oh LOOK! I purchased these FABulous Love, Elsie embroidery designs. This is the collection entitled "Neverland." She loaded her Etsy shop the other night at midnight, and I stayed up to see what was going in...I'm so glad I did! The tree and the Native Girl are my faves...

I also got this gorgeous little treasure from Artsy Mama's Etsy Shop:

Isn't it yummy? I haven't used it yet because I keep staring at it thinking, how adorable it looks in the little seed containers! The little vintage mushrooms "sealed the deal..." aren't they the sweetest?

By the way, if you think of it, please say a prayer for me this Sunday. As you know it's mother's day and I am (5 years) without MY mom and we just lost my husband's mother recently, Also I won't get to spend the day with either (any) of MY babies...I don't expect it to be an easy day...

Thanks so much,

More soon!

Paula

I hear you about Mother's Day. Pray for me as well dear sister, I'll be with grandpa so Nana can go be with her only living sister for a bit. Rather than bore you with an amazingly long comment---heroes you ask: My grandparents (not famous) but they've made me who I am. The other one that immediately came to mind after your last post was Julian of Norwich.

Well, I don't know if I can think of 10 right off the top of my head..but here goes anyway:

1. Jesus~ The embodiment of love in it's truest and purest form.

2. Helen Keller~ A true overcomer in every sense of the word.

3. My Great Grandma Julia~ A woman with an amazing ability to "make do" with whatever she had....she could seemingly create something out of nothing. Often necessity truly did make her the "mother of invention".

4. My mom & dad~ For always loving me unconditionally, even when I seemed determined to screw up my life in every way imaginable.

5.Red Skelton~ A comedian that was truly one of a kind...who loved humor as much as he loved God. "Good night and may God bless."

6. Charlotte Mason~ A teacher who believed that children can learn much more by living then by "lessons"!!

7. Pastor Tom Smith~ His wise, Godly counsel saved my marriage and changed my life!

8. Edmund Blair Leighton~ My artistic "hero"...a 1900's british painter who did beautiful paintings of women. I adore his work!

Well, not to bad...I got 8 !!!

Huggles~
