A VINTAGE HALLOWEEN...

Greetings, dear reader!

(Another blog change: Note the "favicon" in the header with my blog name...it's now the "witchy version" of me! The regular favicon will return after the holiday(s)!)

Meanwhile, a few links I just HAD to share with you!

From "Old Fashioned Halloween"

From "Halloween Artists"

From "Vintage Halloween"

From "Spookshows"

And, of course, from Jenny B at Allsorts, her Halloween blog Owlsorts

I just got back from being with my grandbabies, and so had my mail held until tomorrow...at which time I'm CERTAIN the mailman will be bringing me my FABulous Elizabeth at Bluebird Papercrafts Halloween Banner! I can't wait to show you...it's the epitome of cuteness!

I have also signed up for another TWO swaps at E's...check them out here and here! Oh! And another at Red Lead!

Tis the season to be crafting!

More soon (and more pictures of those grandbabies!)

Hugs,
Paula Clare

CANDY CORN CONE DECORATING IDEA!

Greetings, dear reader!

Here is one of the finished "candy corn" paper cones I just finished:

Again using two of my favorite images...Stickled (of course!) and glued inside the cone. I printed the image in front slightly larger than the one in back...to give the illusion of her being closer.

I glued the flocked letters C-A-N-D-Y around the top of the cone, then added a sparkly silver pipe cleaner, wrapped with silver star garland. Filled it with orange and black peanutbutter kisses, and hung it on my aqua cabinet in the kitchen.

Hope you like it!

More ideas soon...readying the canned ham for a road trip to see the grandson...OH! And a new grand daughter will be arriving Wednesday!

Hugs to all!

FINAL DECORATING SPOT: THE KITCHEN!

Greetings, dear reader!

As you might have figured out, I go a little "ape" decorating for holidays...everything from buying the right "candle" for fragrance to having the right little "snacks" available for any visitors who may happen through. (My "candy corn" dishes will be filled with miniature chocolate bars and orange and black wrapped peanut butter kisses (one of my old time faves!)

First, some inexpensive decorations found at a local "Halloween" store. Everything you see was half price! Again I went with "sweet and cute" rather than scary and gorey. :-) It's just NOT my bag, baby!

Lying around on the table, you might remember the vintage spoon "album" I made a year or two ago? Here are a few closer shots of the spoons, colored with Alcohol Inks!

I found this adorable little candlestick at a nearby "General Store." (It was SO FUNNY...my husband willingly tagged along, thinking General Store meant, "general merchandise."..like FOOD and TOOLS and hunting equipment...HA! It is a 3 room expanse of all things primitive and crafty! He had NO IDEA! I snagged the little spook and his candlestick and SKEdaddled out without spending my usual HOURS inside. :0) Hubby Dear was NOT amused! But *I* was!)

And my sweet little "BOO" banner, dragged out yet again...made by the ineffable Jan Thomason of Paper Cowgirl fame...

Another craft post coming your way shortly!

Hugs,
Paula Clare

HALLOWED HALLS...RAVENS OVERTAKE HOME!

Greetings, dear reader! The decorating madness continues...here is the welcome mat at my front door! Isn't it sweet?

And ravens have overtaken the magic cottage! Behold:

The dancing skellies and their cool box, once again from the Halloween archives of The Toymaker.

Painted an old faded green Christmas basket black so it resembles a witch's cauldron...and see the candy corn? They will soon become like these from Red Lead!

And one of my favorite creations, inspired by the movie "Phantom of the Opera": My masquerade plaque, sitting on a shelf next to a flickering little-girl-circled candle. The little girl holding a candy corn votive is a cute paper box from Bethany Lowe.

And I MUST show you my most recent, FAVORITE Halloween purchase!

From the imagination of Meri Wiley! Isn't he just hilarious? I love his bucky fangs and his dangling spider (no doubt "playing with his food!") Meri has some other fab little sculptures in her Etsy shoppe...check her out!

I'll be back in a day or two with an AMAZING little altered album (or two!)

Hugs,
Paula Clare
