PERSONAL HEROES: INSPIRATION & PURPOSE

Every day I see people...(counsel people), who are older and younger, and who have very real isues. Often issues of identity...They come to me in a bit of a quandry asking the question (of God or anyone else who would answer) "What is my purpose? Who am I? Why am I here...REALLY?"

As many of you know, I am an avid bibliophile. If I want to know about something, put a book in my hot little hands and let the research commence! One such book happened to "fall" into my lap...I was going through a SARK phase at the time ( I guess I've never quite come out of it) but she mentioned several authors who inspire her...who then themselves listed several authors. One which made the list was Barbara Sher's "Live the Life You Love: In Ten Easy Step-by-Step Lessons"

The book, for me, was, in a word, life-changing. I have taken bits and pieces of these lessons and have created what I call "Character Building Assignments." You can see one such assignment on my counseling website . If you click on "Services" and then "Blog" it will take you to an area called "Helpful Tools." The assignment I speak of is "Character Builder #1"

Do check out these links...and ponder the questions on the exercise. I'll be back later with a LO and with MY answers!
